Nice to meet you!

A waving hand

I am Nan,
an eLearning experience designer.

nan

[nʌn]

Noun
a precious wood known for its durability, beautiful grain, and resistance to decay.

For centuries, Nan wood has been used to create high-quality furniture, buildings, and carving artworks due to its durability and strength.

I strive to achieve what my name signifies.
2014
I entered the realm of adult ESL education and quickly found my true passion in the intricate art of course design. Behind the scenes, I poured creativity into every lesson, crafting multimedia-rich activities that did more than engage – they transformed learners' understanding. While I won awards for excellence in teaching, I always felt a world was waiting for my exploration.
2016
Drawn to Shanghai's vibrant tech scene, I dove deep into the world of EdTech. At LAIX, I had the opportunity to design AI-powered adaptive eLearning experiences that personalized the learning journey for each individual. These courses, grounded in cognitive science, curated immersive visual journeys with delightful interactions and animations.

It was truly exhilarating to know that millions of learners benefited from the experiences my team and I created, and to be at the forefront of educational transformation.

Hayley Gong,
Former Content Developer at LAIX

“One of the aspects I admire most about Nan is her reliability. She can always be counted on to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional work. Nan's consistency in producing high-quality eLearning content is a testament to her commitment to excellence.”

2019
Yet, my story took a more introspective turn when I headed to Australia for an enriching gap year. Along with road trips along the eastern and western coasts, it was a period of profound self-reflection and rediscovery that allowed me to reflect on my life and set the stage for the next phase of my journey.
2020
Canada opened its arms to me next. Although 2020 has thrown me a curve ball, it didn't stop me from settling down and making my new home here. Ever since then, Canada has been a witness to my academic pursuits, the ups and downs of life, and my enhanced focus on eLearning expertise.
As I delved into freelancing, I was able to work with awesome people and expand my reach to learners from diverse industries across the United States and Canada.

GOING FORWARD
Looking ahead to my next chapter, I'm eager to work alongside a team as driven as I am, pushing the boundaries of what eLearning can achieve for organizations and their learners.

Outside of work, I'm all about finding inspiration in the everyday things I love. Video games and board games are my jam, constantly fueling my creative side. My cozy space is filled with lush houseplants, especially my beloved monstera. And when it's time to chill, you'll often catch me grooving to the 70's Japanese Jazz Funk. If you share any of these vibes or have cool ideas to swap, let's connect!
